This live itinerary now starts at 845 Wilmon Court in Tallahassee, makes the long push to Chapel Hill, uses Thursday for UNC plus the Blacksburg pass-through, protects Friday/Saturday UVA time, locks the Saturday 1:00pm UVA Engineering tour, then moves to Colonial Williamsburg at 3:00pm and returns home through Charleston.

Locked working plan — UVA Engineering tour protected
- Day 1: 845 Wilmon Court, Tallahassee → Chapel Hill (~608 mi / ~11h39 drive time before stops). Treat as travel + Franklin Street/campus-edge evening only.
- Day 2: UNC morning, Chapel Hill → Blacksburg (~158 mi / ~3h38), quick Virginia Tech/Blacksburg pass-through, then Blacksburg → Charlottesville (~149 mi / ~2h57).
- Day 3: Charlottesville/UVA deep day: Rotunda, Lawn, The Corner, admissions/self-guided work and unhurried father/son comparison.
- Day 4: UVA Saturday morning + 1:00pm UVA Engineering School tour at Thornton Hall A-Wing. Depart Charlottesville around 3:00pm; arrive Williamsburg around 5:30–6:00pm for dinner and historic-area atmosphere.
- Day 5: Colonial Williamsburg focused morning, depart around 1:00pm for Charleston (~448 mi / ~8h33 drive time before stops); late Charleston arrival.

University of Virginia

Undergrads take Intro to VLSI (ECE 4332) and design a full chip in Cadence, plus FPGA, ASIC/SoC, analog IC and RF courses. The IFAB cleanroom + Nanoscale Materials Characterization Facility = ~$10M in microfabrication.

Yelp pages returned 403 in the latest cron probe, so ratings/counts remain cached June signals with direct recheck links instead of fresh claims. One downgrade from the old guide: Blue Talon sits at 3.8★ on Yelp — kept as a comfort-food fallback, no longer a headliner.
Tesla playbook
The five rules
- Start every drive day at 90–100% — Day 1 and Day 5 are non-negotiable full charges.
- Tesla in-car nav is the source of truth for Superchargers and preconditioning; this guide only sets the rhythm.
- Fastest pattern: arrive low-ish, charge to what the next leg needs, leave before the curve flattens (~80%).
- Book hotels with Level 2 / destination charging in Blacksburg/Christiansburg, Charlottesville, Williamsburg and Charleston where possible — it converts dead time into range.
- Confirm arrival margin before leaving the last Supercharger of each day.
The two big days
~608 mi to Chapel Hill likely needs 3–4 charge stops; ~448 mi to Charleston and ~399 mi home are the other big return legs. Run each leg in Tesla Trips the night before; weather, grades, traffic and hotel charging will move the plan.
